Here is a fantastic interview Joe did earlier today with the nationally syndicated sports radio talk show Jim Rome LIVE! Listen to this interview now!
Joe was so gallant, taking the high road about not being included in the Olympic opening or closing ceremonies. What were they thinking? How could they skip UNDEFEATED?
Listening to him describe living in Sheffield as a kid was so interesting and how he was able to get thru working in a factory for four years simply to supply his needs and ambitions to be in Leppard; his feelings over being the second biggest group in the world, second only to Michael Jackson, and how they "readjusted" their attitude when they became so famous. (no more staying at the Holiday Inn!)
It's a wonderful interview;
His patient reaccounting of stories he has told so many times before, thank you Joe;
listening to joe in this interview made me smile, laugh and then almost move me to tears. no matter how many times joe is asked to talk about steve's death or rick's horrendous accident he always talks about it with such emotion. his knowledge of dates astounds me no end. being asked the same questions in every interview must sometimes be very mundane but you would never guess it listening to him talk. was lovely to listen to all manner of things in this interview from joe's earlier days in sheffield to def leppard being one of the biggest bands in the world. as far as i'm concerned def leppard will always be THE biggest band in the world x
THANK YOU JOE FOR A GREAT INTERVIEW. WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE ON STAGE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE GUYS. LOVE TO HEAR NEW STORIES ABOUT YOUR TIME ON THE ROAD WITH EVERYONE. THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW IN CHICAGO EARLIER THIS SUMMER. ENJOY YOUR SECOND LEG OF THE TOUR.
To echo others, I know it must be tiring to recount the same stories over and over, but Joe is so gracious about it. One of manny reasons you have such loyal fans and continue to gain more and more-you never act tired of us! lol! We appreciate it!
That was an excellent interview. So much passion in his voice. Funny, interesting, and moving. Joe and the others in the band all really sound like great, down-to-earth guys. My favorite band in the world and always will be. I'll continue to listen! Thanks for posting!
Aw, Joe you're the sweetest thing ever. you could literally talk about paint drying and i would be attached to every word you said. i pay attention to interviews and remember everything better than in school. i always look forward to interviews because you all have such an amazing way of thinking when it comes to music and the industry. you're not the average band, you're genuine and the reason why i fell in love with your music. the music is one of the most important things in being a band, but if you're complete assholes, it's a huge turnoff. you're all perfect and the nicest people and that's why your fan base pours in more and more every year. i literally cant wait until i meet you and trust me, that day will come. be prepared to explain your love for mott the hoople in detail and the writing process of X. oh and please don't let the jerkoffs leaving rude comments on your facebook page stop you from coming back to saratoga. there's more true fans than anything and we'd LOVE to have you back. so please please please remember us, and viv promised us one extra song next time ;) and i hope the old saying "we'll see you next time and there will be a next time" goes without saying for us <3 thank you for making your music that gets me through life every single day. thank you thank you thank you
