09/05/2012 - 19:35

Phil is auctioning "WINGS," a one-of-a-kind Jackson guitar from his personal collection, and is donating 100% of the proceeds to The Gerson Institute, an organization that supports Holistic Cancer Therapy.

In Phil's words: On September 5th I'll be auctioning off one of my tour guitars called 'WINGS' via eBay in an effort to support The Gerson Institute in their fight against cancer. I play this guitar every night on the Rock of Ages tour!  'WINGS' is specifically dedicated to my dad Kenneth, who passed away from pancreatic cancer and the guitar donator Jake Willoughby's mum Connie who passed from the same."

The auction begins September 5th and runs through September 15th on eBay – BID HERE NOW

Phil, I think that auctioning off your Wings guitar
for the cancer fight is a great idea. I hope this
raises the money needed & hopefully someday there
will be a cure. Forever a Def Leppard, Man Raze &
Bela Lugosi fan, Christine - NYS

Atttention to ALL Def Leppard Fans!!! CHALLENGE and PROPOSAL....Challenge: Donate whatever amount you can afford to Phil's current cause, The Gerson Institute. It's really easy to do online! Proposal: if we can raise some cash, maybe we can persuade Phil to change his picture here to one where he looks happy! I know his cause is serious, but "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine" and definitely fits into The Gerson Institute philosophy of an holistic approach to healing and beating disease. LET'S MAKE PHIL SMILE!!!! Are you in? Target date is September 15th, the day the eBay auction ends and the date of Def Leppard's last US gig for the ROA Tour 2012. If bidding on Wings is out of reach for you (it was for me), I think this would be a great way to help out and make a difference!

I extend my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father, Phil. What a lovely idea to auction off a guitar. I hope it raises tons of money. Thank you for being so special.
